Why people love to travel to Turkey?
Read Carly's interview;
Tell us abit about yourself..?
Hi, I'm Carly. I live in Aberdeen, Scotland. I work in Nargile Turkish Restaurant here and was recently given a payrise :)
What made you first decide to visit Turkey?
Erm...I first went there in 2000. Originally I wanted to go to Cyprus but my aunt had been to Kusadasi before so Kusadasi it was. To be honest I wasn't looking forward to it at all but as soon as I set foot on Ladies Beach, I fell in love and have returned 17 times!
Which cities have you visited in Turkey?
Erm...just Kusadasi I thinkoh! I was in Germencik for a local wedding, was very much different from the touristic Kusadasi, was a little village with goats roaming around and lots of cute,cheeky looking little kids who kept touching my hair and staring blankly into my face before being told off by their fathers for being rude haha...was quite amazing!
and erm..yeah im going to fethiye this year!
Would you like to visit again? If yes - What is it about Turkey that you love?
Of course. I just love the atmosphere, the laid backness of everything, not having to worry about anything...I don't particularly like Bar St. and the clubbing side of things, its a bit of an anti-climax...and thats coming from an 18 year old! I'd prefer to go sightseeing and explore.
Did you feel safe in Turkey?
To a certain extent...If I know where i am, I feel totally fine. The only thing I do hate is the little narrow dark roads...oh and the mental dogs!
How were the Turkish people?
They try their best to make sure you have a great time...and they are very very good at it! They are so cheery and welcoming, you can go to a new place and make friends and feel like you've known them for years...but just remember, that you have not! They generally have a warm, welcoming attitude,sometimes which is a bit forward. Oh and...theyr damn hot too!
Do you have any suggestions for new visitors to Turkey? Travel - tour tips? Can you recommend any specific places or advice?
If you visit Kusadasi, I would recommend Ladies Beach, its absolutely lovely. Ephesus is a great opportunity to experience buuuut remember your sun cap as it can get VERY VERY hot! Boat trips are amazing...but don't drink too much :p
