Why people love to travel to Turkey?

Read Sarah's interview;

Sarah aka Bean

Tell us abit about yourself..?

I'm Sarah, i'm 18 years old and i'm currently at college in Oxford studying a national diploma in Forensic Science! After that i plan to join SOCO and carry on from there. I also have 3 jobs, working in Waitrose, waitressing and babysitting. I have a turkish fiance and we will have been engaged a year on the 12th of april, which also happens to be my birthday. He is currently in the army and I am finding it hard not hearing from him as much as i used to.

What made you first decide to visit Turkey?

I first visited Turkey in 2003 for a family/friends holiday, there was 18 of us, so we were a big group and very sort after by the waiters of the restaurants, haha!!! It was like being a celebrity! I loved it!

Which cities have you visited in Turkey?

I havent been to many places, I've been to Alanya, Izmir and a small town called Akcay. I loved all of them, they each had their different little quirks about them.

Would you like to visit again? If yes - What is it about Turkey that you love?

YES!!! I would definitely go to Turkey again, ive been 5times (not many!) i love the people and how friendly they are. I haven't been to many places in the world, but i should imagine that the people anywhere else would not make you feel as welcome! They all just want to talk and I love talking!!!! I also loved the music in Turkey, its just 24/7, although i did come home and i was singing 'my number one' for weeks after i'd been there one time!!!!

Did you feel safe in Turkey?

I did feel safe in Turkey, yes, although my mum did get her purse stolen on the beach at night, so i would warn everyone to stay to well lit areas! Other than that my visits to Turkey have been great! I sometimes feel less safe here than in Turkey.

How were the Turkish people?

They were all so friendly,and surprisingly good at all the different languages! Straight away they treat you like a friend and as if they have known you for years. They were so hospitable wherever we went, it was great to feel so welcome.

Do you have any suggestions for new visitors to Turkey? Travel - tour tips? Can you recommend any specific places or advice?

New visitors to Turkey should just enjoy the experience and do everything they can to explore the country, it's so beautiful, i would love to just travel around Turkey. I would recommend a turkish bath as soon as they arrive, it gives you the best chance of getting the greatest tan ever, but also makes you feel great!!! Apparently its great for a bad back too! There is some great fun to be had in Turkey so take every opportunity to have it! Respect the people, they are amazing! Basically enjoy the country the people and everything about the place!
