Why people love to travel to Turkey?

Read Tony & Beth Rigg's interview;

Tony - Beth Rigg

Tell us abit about yourself..?

Hi, I am Tony i am 57 years young. My wife is Beth, she is (dont tell her i said) 42, we have 3 girls Melissa 12, Sammy 8, & Demi Lee 6. We are from North Manchester in the UK. I am an electrical engineer Beth works in a hospital.

What made you first decide to visit Turkey?

We first became aware of Turkey through work mates, who loved it and now we do too. When we first got to Kusadasi it was 3.00am and dark. We were very tired and we seemed to be in the middle of a building site. We went into the hotel which was small, then we went to the room and couldn't even turn around it was that small. We sat on the bed, Beth was so upset and said if there are 3 or less hangers in this wardrobe I am going home tomorrow…there were 3. We opened a bottle of duty free and started to relax, and we were suddenly woken by morning pray. We have been back more than 20 times since that first night.

Which cities have you visited in Turkey?

We have been to quite a few places in Turkey and loved them all. We have been to Istanbul, Ankara, Bodrum, Altinkum, Cappadocia (which is a must) Olu Deniz, Fethiye and many more places. My own special one is Selcuk just outside Kusadasi - a real village with real Turkish people, we have made a lot of friends there.

Would you like to visit again? If yes - What is it about Turkey that you love?

We have a house there and are coming May/June to look for schools for the kids and then to move over to live, with the help we have had from this forum and others it's made it much easier to make the move.

Did you feel safe in Turkey?

We feel safer in Turkey than on the streets in the UK, Beth and the girls go to turkey on their own for a month and have never had any bad things happen to them.

How were the Turkish people?

The people are very nice but can seem a bit overwhelming if you are not used to it, but that's the way they are. We have a house in Kusadasi and have Turkish people on each side of us. They cant do enough for us and they ask can they go to the market for us, do we need any thing water milk etc.

Do you have any suggestions for new visitors to Turkey? Travel - tour tips? Can you recommend any specific places or advice?

For new visitors i would like to say what is keeping you? It is great once you have been you will be like us and can't wait to get back!
